Let’s face it – Maintaining a large, complex IT infrastructure can quickly become a drain on any company’s resources. This is especially true for energy providers, whose critical systems must be closely monitored in order to maintain an uninterrupted flow of energy to customers.

The good news is that Utility providers can leverage IT Foundation Management to manage their infrastructure in an efficient way. In the following case study, Pacificorp, one of the largest energy providers in the western United States, did just that: Case Study: Effective and Efficient Power Grid Management.

Pacificorp needed a solution that could monitor and manage all of their hardware and software systems, old and new, and provide remote access to servers located in multiple states. IT Foundation Management was just what the doctor ordered – They were able to manage their entire EMS system from a single screen, virtually eliminating the need to staff remote sites. They were also able to improve the efficiency of personnel by automating many of the daily functions which had previously been performed manually.

With IT Foundation Management, Pacificorp is able to manage their EMS efficiently, from a single screen at a single location, from virtually anywhere, with customized alerts and event notifications to avoid major crises. Now that is a good day.
