Virtualization
Overview
ConsoleWorks manages both physical and virtual IT infrastructure assets as a unified approach to IT Foundation Management. Virtualization capabilities enable ConsoleWorks to manage, monitor, secure, and document Virtual Pools, Virtual Clusters, Virtual Machines, and the applications that run on them just as it does for the physical IT Infrastructure.
Key Features
Virtual Consoles
ConsoleWorks Virtual Server can connect to, manage, and monitor the virtual consoles of virtual machines and all of the components on them.
Agent-less and persistent
ConsoleWorks does not require the installation of software agents to establish connections for managing and monitoring targeted components. Established connections are retained at all times (persistent) to facilitate IT operations, enforce security, and maintain comprehensive audit trails.
VMware Movement
VMware is designed to optimize resource use by automatically moving virtual machines based on load. ConsoleWorks Virtual Server tracks the movement of virtual machines in the VMware environment providing complete audit trails and the ability to detect and respond to out-of-policy movement.
Bi-directional data capture
ConsoleWorks automatically captures and records all information flows to and from privileged interfaces. This gives ConsoleWorks the ability to capture all user actions, as data, along with information output by virtualized components.
Digitally signed logs and forensic records
All information collected by ConsoleWorks is time-stamped and digitally signed to ensure information accuracy, empower oversight, and meet compliance requirements.
Comprehensive Automation
Many automation functions are included in ConsoleWorks to eliminate common repetitive actions. In addition, ConsoleWorks provides a powerful scripting environment that can be used to automate an unlimited number of operational scenarios.
Role based access and control
ConsoleWorks Virtual Server provides advanced role-based access and control capabilities with LDAP integration for fine-grained control of access rights and privileges across all managed connections.
Secure Remote Management and Monitoring
Through a standard web browser, ConsoleWorks Virtual Server can be securely accessed from any geographical location eliminating the need for administrators and engineers to be locally present to perform their work.
